storyboard time!
I have the artbook for this movie which includes this storyboard sequence. It’s undoubtedly my favorite part of the development of this film. There’s just something so charming and Miyazakian in the way this scene is set up, with its silent communication and a slightly goggle-eyed Toothless. One of the most perfect examples of telling a story without words that I have ever seen.
